To my understanding what Jimmy Hoffa did was stood up for drivers who worked like a dog for a company. They would sleep in the front seat of their truck, work long hours in an unsafe truck etc etc. Jimmy essentially bullied his way to get the drivers signed into a union and then stuck it to the company legally give a driver's a right, policy of ethics, criteria of safety, etc. So, what happened after that was obviously the mafia, Robert Kennedy investigations etc. So you can help me understand Jimmy Hoffa if you would like. I only mentioned him because I feel with his personality, tenacity and how he stood up to be companies that just pay a driver .50 cents a mile to work like a chump on the road 3 weeks a month.
Help me understand

Why do some only want a new truck?
Why do some like older trucks?
Why does anyone pull a flatbed?
Why does anyone pull a reefer?
Why do people worry about what someone else is doing?kemosabi49 Thanks this. -

Point is it's not a one size fits all.
Chase your own money not someone else's. -
When it comes down to pay, I disagree. It is all about money. Why else do you work?

Maybe I should have said it a little simpler. Work your business to the best of your ability, and let others worry about how to run their business.

What gets me is this idea that the gross is yours, it is the authority's and your gross is the share of that.
Hoffa until he became president of the teamsters was for the drivers, when he became president of the teamsters, he became part of the problem that those drivers had. -
Well, I think there is a lot to be said for enjoying what one does to earn his living. That IMHO is just as important as the money.BoostedTeg Thanks this.
