All cascadias are big headache . I have one.. Buy another truck with cummins CM2350 engine.

Please Advise,
I’m driving a 2012 cascadia DD15. One day check engine light and MIL light came out, then STOP (red) light and the engine shutdown. I was stranded near Birmingham, so i was tow to the freightliner dealership in Birmingham. It took them 2 days just to give me a diagnosis, then they said it was the DPF fliters ($1700 each x 3) and after almost a week, when i was supposed to get the truck, the guy told me that the truck wasn’t passing a computer test, abd that the computer was showing a code, which end up to be the ONEBOX thing. Now, they say the only way to fix it is to change this ONEBOX, which is $7128.00.
Am i being ripp off?? Is this normal? Truck has 630000 miles.

It's normal. Did you do any maintenance prior to these problems? (Dpf) How many miles did the truck have when you first bought it? Did you get maintainence records before purchase?

Any truck can be a problem. After swearing up and down I would never be happy with a Freightliner, I have to say my favorite truck was my 2017 Cascadia. Hoping to get a new one here at my new job soon.

Are they that bad? They have the same Cummins emission systems as the rest. Or is it just a “I rather drive a Pete or KW” type of thing.

it's normal. happens a lot with dd15. now I don't believe they can change your 1 box . 1 boxes are on backorder and waiting time is about 1-2 months.

Is the Cummins less problematic than the Detroit in the Cascadia ? Asking because I keep reading about wiring harness issues on the Detroit.
And what’s the deal with the 1 box needing replaced? Is there a way to prevent it?
