Where is everyone #5

Yes spring wheat and barley. The wheat we first seeded isn't gonna run very good as it got zapped with heat early on. The later wheat is much better and looks to run very good. The barley looks really good as well.

If I had to estimate the bushels per acre I'd say the early wheat will be around 30-35 and the later wheat 60-65. The barley will maybe run 80-90. These are good averages for up here.

We could really use a shot of rain for the fall crop.

How do crops look your way @Oxbow?

 

I gotta put 2 tires on my cow wagon. By the wear I think it needs bushings on the front axle. I'm think those are a job for trailer sales of Memphis. They are ####ty to say the least

 

I haven't seen the dry farms lately, but most all of our farming is irrigated and looks good as there has been no shortage of water. As far as I know our farmers aren't as dependent on mother nature due to irrigation, and usually the biggest problem is lodging unless they receive hail damage.

The Petro has a BBQ buffet for 12.00 that actually looks decent so here I sit for lunch...

 

Is there a specific reason everbody (I ever seen anyway) just runs polished or bare metal on cow wagons? I never saw a painted one...?

 

I will try to find a pic of an old Hobbs my Dad had. It was the only painted one I ever seen.


There were places the paint never stayed, the only answer I can give is I think animal business effects paint sticking. But I don't have proof nor have I been told that. It's just all I can come up with as a possible reason

 

I'll be here all day and night, usually a lot leave after the parade ends around 5:00pm

Nothing is ever easy round here. Have to send in a line off the sleeper to be made so I unhooked the bunk. One of the caps for the line was over at the kids.....

Well it seems the granddaughters goat got into the box of parts....finally found the cap under a bucket stuck down in a pallet with the bag all chewed up.

Got the vac pump humming now.

 

4:30pm and this guy just pulled the knobs in Evanston... that was easy...

Gonna clean up and then scurry off and see if I can’t nab a nice dinner for a change..

Got laundry and a bunch of sleep to catch up on tomorrow.
