Yep, when you screw up, and you will, don't panic and turn a small mistake into a big one. Pretty new myself but I believe most problems new guys have are from panicking after a minor mistake and then making a bigger mistake in their haste.

And congrats.

 

Okay, just curious....I live up there, so I thought I may be able to add something in there to help out.
Like the other poster said, don't panic when you do make a mistake. If you find yourself in a hole, don't dig deeper...calm down and find a way out. Or ask for help.
Keep an eye on the weather. You'll probably catch a little snow before you get to your drop, so be prepared. And don't be shy about staying in your comfort zone. You are the captain of your ship.
And the biggest one....have fun and stay safe.

 

Take it slow, think about what youre doing, and dont let anybody intimidate you. If you feel uncomfortable with anything, its because somethings not right. Do what you feel you need to do and be careful about second guessing yourself. I did and it cost me my job.

get up bright and early in the morning and finish early enough to find a parking spot at the end of the day. then get up and do it again. enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Yes yes yes GGGGGGGEEEEETTT OOOOUUUTTT AAANNND LLLOOOKKKK when there is any doubt cant stress this enough!! A quick 5 second jump out and peak at both sides will save you hours of pain and hassle if you hit something. Also if you dont think you can make a delivery or pick up in the time alotted in the preplan turn it down with notes in the bottom saying you cant make pu or del time in time. This will save you from any service failures with swifty. Good luck and keep the greasy side down!

 

pre map the trip...

memorize where you are going... directions, scales, fuel

like you got anything else to do...lol


leave early or allow plenty of time to get there... no penalty for early arrival.


don't forget belt routes are usually much faster than cutting thru the middle of cities during rush hour traffic.

if you miss a turn, don't panic and roll it in the ditch trying to make an off ramp.... juz chill and work your way back to it. no biggy happens to all... and you got plenty of time cause you left early so there is no reason to rush or panic.

and lastly,

don't rush or panic... that'll get ya in trouble... que theme music.
