Considering what people will tattoo on their foreheads, this doesn't seem so strange.

I think if you do this, get the company to buy the trailer outright, like a billboard paid in advance. They'll get years and years out of it and you have nothing to lose.

 

The billboards that you see on the side of the interstate are worth $500 per month in rental fees. With that being said, I would think that a 53 ft trailer would be worth a large percentage of that. This obviously depends on the company that is purchasing the advertising. One would need to find a company who's target market would be looking at trucks rolling down the highway.

For those concerned with the application and removal of advertising "decals"; it does NOT have to be done that way. A friend of mine has 15 trailers that have advertising on them for his main customer. They use a heavy canvas material that is attached to the the trailer on all four sides with a frame of sorts. This thin aluminum frame is attached to the edges of the trailer and the canvas is stretched tight. I believe (but am not sure, will have to look) that the frame is attached with rivets. Rolling down the road, you would think that the banner is a large decal. You have to look very closely to see that it isn't.

 

I'm thinking about turning my pick-up into a red bull can.

 

I found something called TruckSkin. Their web site explains how it's done and also shows pictures and diagrams. It's interesting. Might be worth looking into for us and the reefer. Thanks. If worse comes to worse, we'll just give the truck back to the person we're buying from and sell the reefer.

 

My cousins have a 'wrap' shop and they do vans all the time, they've been trying to break into the 'truck' business. It's actually quite simple to 'wrap' a trailer..

I was thinking today that if I owned a trailer, I'd be putting ad's on it in a heartbeat for my 'side business'...
