The closing of only the training yard in South Carolina has been in the works
for a while. Last year TMC bought the old Schneider terminal outside Des
Moines. That facility included 20 something acres of pavement. All training
operations have been consolidated to that location. Also during the middle of
2008 TMC opened a brand new state of the art full service terminal in Gaston
SC. The plan always was to close the training terminal after the new one
opened. That terminal consolidated operations from Lake City FL,
Columbia SC and other southeast locations.

For us out of the loop it was a bummer though. We had no idea until we called up to confirm. Driving 60 miles south sounded easier than 700 north. Oh well. -
You don't work for TMC. I don't need to say anything more except that you don't know what you are talking about. -
Stick around the forum long enough and you'll be able to discuss companies you haven't worked for either, just having read things about them on here.Baack Thanks this. -
And hauling a tarp is hauling a tarp no matter who you drive forLilbit Thanks this. -
Here's alittle more information for those who don't know. TMC has been loaned alot of $$$$$$$$$$$$ from Maverick Transportion. OK this good I think. And there is nothing wrong with keeping there trucks nice and clean. But when a company spends alot of money and then has to borrow money to stay in business. there is somthing major wrong with the management of that company. But this company and so many others are in big trouble. The management people spend money like crazy= wastefully, and underpay there drivers. Then layoff ,etc. the drivers. It's time that management start getting fired/layed off, and let drivers run the companys.
Id like to see companys ownerd and ran by drivers for drivers. They are the blood of the company. -
Source for this----seen the rumors all too often swirling around and would like you to offer SOLID evidence of this and not my uncle bill told my wifes aunts sister's brother about this at the family reunion

I've only been with TMC six weeks but have seen enough to know some of the statements made are not completely true. I have met several drivers and nobody has complained about being treated unfair or badly, just the one or two I met that didn't seem to like doing manual labor. I do know that a very large percentage of the office staff, FM's and trainers were drivers at one time. I have enjoyed my time at TMC and have no complaints. I do know TMC just laid something like 200 employees off. This was not just drivers but office workers also. The ones let go were not pulling there weight. There were repeated late deliveries, being rude with customers, wrecks, tickets and just plain old not doing what they were paid to do. Now I may be wrong but the way I see it is you do the job you agreed for the amount you agreed on or the employer has the right to send you packing. Just my thoughts

I ran into one of TMC drivers at a hotel filling out a application for another company. He said that he would be out all week long and would only get 1 or 2 short loads and he was only bringing home a little over 250.00 a week. Be Aware of them he said. This was last week when i talked to him. GOODLUCK!
