I trained my spouse. Passengers were not permitted without a signed waiver at the home yard first. If you had anyone in that truck prior to bringing spouse down for training, they would fire you and that would be that.
After the spouse was tested and accepted as a full team driver, passenger stuff was not applicable. With another employer she did reach a point that enough was enough and instantly became a passenger. Delivered the load and then delivered her at the house. It was not too long after before I got home myself. That year.

There are actually quite a few. Most of the time if it is dry/reefer van they will allow passengers. Most not always. Tanker/flatbeds rarely ever. One of the companies I like that allow passengers is Danny Herman. Sadly I don't get to work with them but, they are a good company and they treat people well. They have a good flexibility on their passenger and pet policy.
ShawGS Thanks this. -
Was she allowed as a rider from the beginning? My husband was OTR for years but has been off for the last 5. We cant find a company that will allow him to do my training. Any insight would be great!
