Good story!

This didn't happen to me, but it just shows the kind of drivers that are out there every day. I was delivering to a food service distributor and as I was walking across the parking lot, I heard a cruching sound. I looked up and saw a truck that was pulling away from the dock. Apparently, his left door came unhooked from the side of the trailer and lodged against the trailer beside him. Before he knew what was going on, it ripped the door completely off his trailer and was actually still stuck in the side of the tralier he hit. The driver if the truck he hit was in the shipping office at the time, so he had no idea what was going on at the time. Then, he and his co-driver were trying to put the door in the back of the trailer frantically, as if they were going to try and leave. Luckily, the victim driver came out before they could leave. They talked about what happened for a minute and the two drivers left. Had the victim been an owner operator, I think the outcome would have been a lot different. I know if it had been my trailer it would have.

I'm curious, Did they let him drive away after the report?

i watched a guy drag his tandems over another drivers passenger side steer tire at the Flying J in Emporia ks and then go try to hide in the "back of the lot" needless to say he didnt stay hidden very long

Actually MADE him leave (before me), waited than they followed him "out" so he didn't stop and wait for me. (Because of implied threats he made)

Had the same thing happen to me in October 2007. Trucker from Toronto backing in to the dock beside me up in Montreal.
They said they wanted to pay for damages without going through insurance. Yea, well.... I'm still waiting. I contacted their insurance and am now getting a run around from them.
Next step is court.
Thankfully I have a police report.
