That Tech didn't sound like any con artist to me. That Tech schooled you!
WTF is one-one thousand of a microvolt? The Tech started to laugh at you when you said that, but composed himself not to make you look like a stupid idiot, but you did a good job of that all by yourself. Don't you have anything better to do than bother people at work with your stupidity? Newsflash...nobody gives a hoot about your friend's wonderful radio BS.

RabbiPC Quote: "Listen to this con artist tell me the maximum distance His Radio will transmit is 16 miles on a good day from a car with a 9-foot whip on the roof after his supposed performance modifications."

I listened to the phone conversation. The tech came across as an honest professional respectfully trying to explain the realities of CB communications. Rather than a con artist, the tech sounded like an aviation communications pro who also works on CBs trying to sincerely answer questions from a provocateur.

Who's the real con artist? :)

He didn't School anybody considering he thinks the maximum distance a radio will transmit is 16 miles on a good day.
He admits that what I said is correct but he also admits he's incapable of achieving that result and that he guarantees that his customers will be able to hear an audible tone in the receiver with a signal of .22uv which I told him was not good enough for me since it would drastically reduce the performance that I'm accustomed to.
To each his own, I'm here to help people and if people want to throw their money away that's fine with me I just don't want to see those people lead other people down the same wasteful path.
I try to keep everything in its proper perspective. Anything less is less and therefore worth less money

If after watching the 45-mile Cobra 29 you think the 16 miles seems like a worthy investment it would seem a con artist was able to convince you to choose 16 miles over 37 miles. I'm simply trying to show people how their money is getting wasted that's it. That's not a con that's just trying to be helpful. Keep in mind, I often hear stock Cobra 29's @ 30 miles away and if the distance is reduced by half after a $100 "tune up", then I fail to see any value when someone could simply purchase an $89 radio and stick it in their truck.
A con artist will try to talk you out of your money and I will try to convince you to keep your money in your pocket where it belongs.

You obviously have a problem hearing. He never said he thinks the the maximum distance was 16 miles. He clearly states that the distance of the signal VARIES depending on the atmospheric conditions and many other things which he mentioned, and he is 100% correct. I had other experienced radio techs listen to your illegal recording and posting of the private conversation with him on the phone and they all came to the same conclusion.YOU GOT SCHOOLED! They all laughed when you said your radio's sensitivity is "One-One thousandth of a microvolt". At that point you certainly lost all credibility with them and made a ignorant ####### fool of yourself. What were you trying to prove to him? FYI, You aren't helping anybody by calling them up at work wasting their time asking stupid questions and bragging about how good your boyfriend's radios are.
You need NOT reply to this comment again to annoy me and other forum members with more nonsense in a futile attempt to defend the unwarranted stupidity of your ridiculous phone call.
FACE THE FACTS, YOU GOT SCHOOLED! ENOUGH! :)

And one last thing. The Tech who was on the phone WAS NOT A CON ARTIST as you accused him of being. He was not trying to sell you anything. He was taking time out of his workday to HELP YOU.
Quit making asinine accusations about his intents of being a con artist. You're forgetting I OWN A FLAMETHROWER and have talked all over the world I love the performance of the radio and think it was worth every penny I spent on it.It's jerks like you who piss off people with your stupidity and make forums like this not worth reading.
