Do women get sleep apnea?

Generally yes they keep quiet about that stuff.

Wife on the other hand she was a snorer. Sometimes. With me being deaf its not a problem. Until I get the chain saws going myself. That is where I have to sleep in the other room sometimes. (Or not so she can really rest for work etc)

If the medical situation discriminates against male truckers in hunting for CPAP etc and does not go after women as much then we have a problem.

However there are a number of both sexes at night using oxygen because they have reached a point at which they have to have it while sleeping in order not to die in the night. What gets me is that if they needed it at night while resting, doing nothing. Then tell me why don't they use a barns worth of oxygen by day when they have to work hard physically?

It does not make sense.

 

Yes women do get sleep apnea. Men have it more often than women.

 

Sometimes I wake myself up from snoring, but I never just fall asleep unlesss I have been drinking.

I have a very minor case of sleep apnea.. Just enough for Kaiser to add me to their clinical studies for the disorder (big surprise) and make it necessary for me to prove to the DOT and DMV, every year, that I'm using my machine every night. Wonderful!

When I was using their sleep apnea clinic (a free service they hold twice a week for adjustment, parts, etc), I routinely saw women in the room. In fact I think there were more women in the room than men.
(No, they weren't there discussing their husband's apnea, they were there for themselves).

I've heard some states don't allow people with sleep apnea to hold a CDL. Not sure if this is true. I sure hope not. I live in California; one of the worst states in the nation for passing new and stupid laws that screw over people's lives.
