Strategically playing the loadboards...& also developing relationship with brokers.

    I use the 80/20 rule.

80% of my loads come from 20% of my broker list. They know that when I run, I RUN, therefore when I ask, I get.

    People with freight, probably.

In all seriousness, there's a ton of information that's been posted on these forums for getting loads, and at decent rates. Probably not the greatest etiquette to just ask a dude where he's getting his freight. It'd be like me asking @boredsocial for his customer contacts.

Obviously, I was joking... But averaging +$3 x mile under 10K lbs is more than decent to me.

Honestly 3 a mile gross rate is nothing to get excited about. It would have to be a coast to coast run to even be decent on that rate.

    You do flatbed right?

Also, you are seasoned in trucking. I'm less than 1yr old, so it's only up from here.

My cost is less than 0.80cpm. My fuel is at 24cents/mile. As long as I'm beating Mega's I'm good.

I do not fuel at truck stops, and keep it pegged at 63-65mph. Truck + Empty trailer + 250 gals fuel weighs 29K. Never idle.

    Lite bug Thanks this.
