Thanks to everyone for their input. I was thinking that tankers would likely be the way to go. Ruan does sound pretty good, and I don't HAVE TO have Sat/Sun off, as long as I get back to back days off, so I may look into them, too. They've got a HazMat battery account that requires using an electric pallet jack. I don't know how much that would resemble manual labor... Anyone with personal experience with Tyson, Ruan, Brookshire Grocery, Texas Transeastern, Group Petroleum (website indicates 2 years fuel hauling experience required), Gemini, or JBS?
Suggestions for regional/local, non-flatbed Tyler, Tx area?

Ignore the 2 yrs. fuel hauling experience. Maybe they don't bend their rules, but most companies do these days.

I would look into brookshires on the loop in tyler.. betting money that’s a pretty good company gig.. their security guards at the gate are armed, so no funny buisness.. lol

There also log hauling gigs around. I live just southeast of Tyler and had a neighbor,(he since moved), claim he was doing 1500$ per week. He was driving an older Volvo day cab and was home every night working 5 days a week. I think he was driving for an outfit out of the Jacksonville -Rusk area. He drove that truck home everyday. It's been two or so years since I've seen him so sorry I don't have any specific info.

I know this is an old thread, but there's another fuel hauling company in Tyler that I am familiar with that wasn't listed. Spencer Transport. Don't have to have 2 years fuel hauling experience, just experience driving. They'll train you on the fuel gig. The fuel jobs in Tyler are great because the pay is decent, and you're home every day. Not too familiar with any of the other companies list except TTE, and they have LOTS of problems.
