I bought a new 2019 389 and it has a driveline vibration between 55-65 mph. It's worse when you decelerate. It's got the 2050 torque drive line spl250 spicer. I noticed the intermediate shaft is 3 or 4 notches out of time but after looking at others it seems they come this way. I believe they should have used 2 hanger shafts instead of 1 cause the 2 shafts in the truck are super long.

The throw out bearing is also making a bad grinding squealing noise when double clutch so I shot some grease in it with no change.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced these issues with there new 389.

I got it at Peterbilt dealer for them to figure it out under warranty.

Vibrations at that speed can be wheel end related.
Wheel miscounted, tire, rim, brake drum out of round.

Thanks. Hoping someone else has seen this problem and knows the fix. Feels like I’m sitting in one of those vibrating massage chairs at 58mph and gets better as you go faster. At 70 and above it’s smooth as silk.

Not likely this guys issue. im only saying that becuase there are alot of 389's popping up brand new with this vibration at this speed. 2 this year brand new 389's right from the factory for my buddy. Reading about it all the time. its driveline angles and all bad from factory

Thanks. I figured someone has seen this. I couldn’t believe I would be the only person to get a brand new truck that has vibration issue. Guess I should tell them to look at drive line angles?

Now got to figure out why throw out bearing sounds like #### when you double clutch. Man I would hate for them to pull my transmission on my new truck with 1,000 miles on it.

angles or i think one truck needed to be shimmed and aligned. Lets talk about your throw out bearing. Whats going on? I dont use clutch for anything other than stoppping or strating but whats going on? if you are sitting still and in neutral, will you get the sound as soon as you push the clutch past the freeplay and engage the bearing? whats going on?
iam an owner operator by the way with a 379

It does it only when double clutching. I hardly ever double clutch but when I do it sounds like a growling sound. Only does it while driving. It won't do it sitting still and pushing the clutch. I've never had a truck do it before and I've driven lots of different trucks from new to wore slap out. Also I've driven completely clapped out turds that had less driveline vibration than my brand new 389.

Interesting about the clutch. If bad throwout bearing you would think it would do it sitting still.

It doesn’t make sense. It’s almost like the pedal jumps up and down a little when it does it.

Could it be that the bearing is not sliding fast enough on the shaft?
