Oregon also requires the 55mph chains.

Must be the high dollar chains that are rated more than 25mph.

"If you need to chain up, then its time to park"....yessir!!!!
I have them on the truck but have never used them. Well I should say I have 2 canvas bags that I was told contain chains, but I have never actually opened the bags to look. I guess I am a trusting person.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
that has actually been what many employers had told me over the years.....park it.
i say to them, "your wish is my command".... -
You need to have GUTS to chain up and ride. I love them you can go through #### like a 4x4.
Even Chinese chain is rated for a 45mph. Read the bag. But on black ice you get about 8 hours before they start breaking from new. -
Not the ones I've seen, I was going to suggest the same thing.
WesternPlains Thanks this. -
Or you need to be just plain stupid, like me. I have one of the few situations that isn’t emergency, or just to get out of trouble. I do a regular run over the Co. Rockies. Co. DOT requires chains. While they’re constantly doing a pretty good job on the freeway. Many miles. Many chains. I knew it when I accepted the job.
