I totally overlooked one small detail. (Devil dances on details... story of my life)
Whatever you do, DO NOT attempt Erdman to US 40/Pulaski Highway at the City line and go NE to the beltway, you will find yourself on a small two lane which is about 16 feet across trying to fit onto a little ramp that has been in place since the 40's It's just not going to happen.
Baltimore oversize routing.....

This is like something out of The Twilight Zone. Just throw your permit out the window. go do whatever you want to do, go where ever you want to drive, and have fun with the fines.
-
Or order a new permit and specify the route you want...Skwhirl, snowman_w900, Razororange and 2 others Thank this. -
You new around here? I guess you have never ordered a permit and asked for a specific route?Razororange Thanks this.
-
I certainly know to go the route the permit tells me. But since Maryland charges by the mile on overweight loads I asked to go through the tunnel(heading directly south). They were gracious enough to give me a route going south but I’d never been the route they gave me. Now I’ll get a revised permit asking just to route me around 695.x1Heavy, Ruthless and Razororange Thank this.

Yea I did but they gave me this route. Now I’ll just get one going the long way around 695.x1Heavy, Ruthless and Razororange Thank this. -
I bet those planners are sitting at Chili's now, eating appetizers, laughing their A's off about the route they plugged on some unsuspecting trucker.
Cackling like a house of hens. -
I can imagine.
The Key Bridge would have maybe been a possibility. The big problem will be getting onto 95 from 695. And again across either the Woodrow Wilson or the American Legion into VA. If it's night time I aim for the WW.
I usually went around with a personal car or a big truck when I lived in that part of Baltimore many year. -
It's a crappy route but that's the way we used to have to go with our Cranes. We were right off of North Point.
x1Heavy Thanks this.
