To clarify the qualcomms we had were text only, first generation from 1994 onwards.

The owners manual did explain one of the pages deep within qualcomm that holds a living document with a specific 10 digit number in one corner when a customer is ACTIVELY monitoring your position as you rolled down the interstate as happened a few times. Im not supposed to know about stuff like that but it's the fault of the company to leave manuals laying around in that detail.

Years ago when I was with Swift I used it a few times and it was always slow recalculating.

Maybe yours is better than the one my buddy uses.
My buddy who was too cheap to buy a truck GPS still uses it and he says it's slow also.

If you are with Swift then using Qualcomm Navigo gps is better. For certain customer location, such as Georgia Pacific in Oregon, Rand McNally or Garmin always take you to the wrong freeway with no semi allowed route. I think it’s because Swift already set the correct route in Qualcomm so it knows how to get to the customer properly. But using Qualcomm if you missed a freeway exit or a street is terrible. It won’t recalculate automatically and takes forever if you hit that reroute button. That’s where the other GPS is good for. But once you get used to Qualcomm gps, there is no need for other gps.
