Hello to all on this thread, I pickup my last backhaul today taken it back to the DC in Reno. I started back in May lasted only 3 months. I hired out of Fresno,Ca went through all the paperwork over the net spoke to safety and the mangers over the phone through the process which went ok had to email safety several times to set up a drug screen and DOT. Finally went in and took them in the same day here in Fresno.

I was scheduled to go over and start orientation the next week. They had no means for me to get there so I drove my own car no biggie they reimburse me for my mileage just paid for my gas nothing more. They set me up in the Nugget Casino, nice rooms for 3 nights. Stared my orientation drive test paper work lots of videos payroll stuff etc.. I was a little pissed they don't buy you lunch. They do put you through the Smith System and thats what your trainer goes by when you go out for 2 weeks which I only lasted 4 days with one.

My orientation was over after speaking with management and setting up my day to come back and start my training they asked me to pickup my truck which was at Penske in Fresno,Ca. I went to pickup the truck what a mess this unit was by far the nastiest truck i ever had to pickup. Truck had been sitting for 3 months batteries dead Penske did replace them that day for me. I open up the door what a pig pin it was inside took it home spent 8 hrs cleaning the inside and out which in return they reimburse me for my time.

I drove my truck back over to Reno had to start my training. The Trainer Mr know it all truck driver here we go. Started out by going in getting your dispatch to get your tip pack your bills trip sheet etc you look them over add you weights remember they are hazmat so look at your weights.. Went out to find trailer it could be anywhere in the Dc which Reno has no room to move around found it hook to it strapped the load turned the placards. The trainer was already giving me orders do this do that he even told me to go wash your hands after I close the doors.

Now the fun begins as we are heading out of Reno with 7 drops in the LA basin the trainer speaks asking me how long you been driving I basically told him too god dam long he shut up after that. He didn't shut up for very long started to go on about the Smith System and how it works and how I was going to be trained to do it, ok what ever dude I said to myself. Don't forget CTS has you go out with 2 trainers 5 days with 1 and 5 days with another. As the day rolls on we get to our first railroad crossing the trainer knew we were approaching one he started to distract me look at that running his mouth I drove right over them with out stoping big fine, his reaction to me was I knew you were going to miss them what a total ###, he did that on purpose just to see if I was paying attention. I have never hauled hazmat before he the trainer supposed to be training has me driver over a set of tracks. They do put you up in a room every night you get one and your trainer gets one. All the way down to the LA basin I had to listen to this trainer run his mouth every driver on the road to him was a dum ### and a douche bag Mexican's are all #######. We get to our first store little tricky getting in they are all that way just to make it short and sweet but in the long run you get use to them real quick just make sure you get out and look each time at a store. You have to move a lot of paint around but only to the back of the trailer the stores pull it off. It was a long day we delivered all the stores I was so glad to end the day with the trainer he did to me again distracted me drove right over railroad crossing again what a ####ing prick this guy was. We pickup our backhaul the next day headed back up to Reno same thing all the way back every driver is a dum ### and a douche bag to the trainer. I kept my cool most of the way with the trainer. We made a fuel stop in Fearnley, Nv I blew my top with the trainer he said some nasty things to me.

The next morning I called safety explain to him about the trainer that I was not going back out with him told him this guy does need to be training told him about the sexual content he had told me i blew my top and said this guy needs to stay away from me. They left it at that. I was about ready to quit I was pissed what the #### are they sending me out with a guy like him.

My training was over only 4 day's got my first dispatch and stated working on my own. Its work they want you to run your 14 hr clock every day while on duty and you will use up most of your 70 every week they do let you go home at the end of your work week but only for a reset 34hrs mabe a few more hrs but not much basically 1 day off cant get nothing done spend time with your family and your back out the work is there they have paint to move and thats all they care about is there bottom line and not the driver. They will pull you to the side and question you if you asked for an extra day off. They want you to request for any extra day at least 2 or 3 weeks ahead. They like to use Text on your phones be careful going down the road while texting all there drivers do it. They will question you about your 34 hr reset at home and everything else don't get caught in a lie with these people they will find out.

The pay is ok 2600 miles a week is about what you will turn in a week. Thats about 1200 a week take home depending on your deduction's. The benefits are average they do have a family medical plan which is ok you have a few choices to pick from.

Some drivers have been at CTS for years I guess they like it, I didn't my family is more important to me than there ####ing paint. They will throw you under the bus if you don't do it there way. Don't be a fool and kiss there ### they will Throw you under the bus. Good Luck to the one that go to work for them....
