They did the same thing to me back in the spring of 2013. I haven't moved anything for them since!

TQL is all about making money for themselves. Several times in the last couple of months I have been cheated out of money. Two tonu fees weren't paid after sitting all day each time. Shipper increased pay because of change in load and broker refuses to acknowledge it.

I was gonna pull a TQL load and then rolled over and went back to bed.

I had a TQL girl whine about how she was going to get in trouble if I didn't take the run they haggled me relentlessly over. She acted like she was 10 years old. I was a little shocked at her behavior. I ended up not taking the run and called my favorite LS agent instead.

In fact the first big lesson I ever got about sales came in my late teens in the car business: desperation DOES NOT SELL. If you are desperate customers will feel it dripping off of you, and they will subconsciously avoid buying from you because they worry that you are desperate because there is something wrong. Getting behind the 8 ball financially, getting desperate, and ####ing up every lead you touch is a real job killer. If you want to make it in sales you have to have the emotional control to come back from all the negativity that being rejected constantly gives you (which is about 400% worse when you're worried about paying bills because you can't seem to close a door).
EDIT: So yeah this person is the walking dead. She's on her way out whether she knows it or not. Just a question of how long it takes management to realize she's soft. That vibe you got off of her is what desperation does to customers.Last edited: Aug 20, 2018
DSK333 and Mattflat362 Thank this. -
If you have any issues with them remember that most of the offices run as independed contractors. Simply call the Carrier Relations in head office - phone number at the tql website - they have all phone calls recorded. Once I had a truck stuck for 6 hours at the detention at the receiver. I've been told that detention rate applies at $40 per hour, I agreed. Day after delivery they declined. All I did was simply call the Carrier Relations Centre and informed them about it. It took 2 weeks to solve but I received the cheque for detention as promised before. Try also to get all info like that confirmed by email too.
