could you please explain to me what my tone was? or what you took it to be? perhaps it wasn't taken in the tone that I meant it to be taken in.

Just the part about the poster possibly being stupid. There are certain companies that need to be brought down a notch and there are others that just plain suck and care not one iota about the people that got them there. If Swift, for example, were to go under, the drivers worth their salt would find work easily because freight would free up. The steering wheel holders, well... the world needs burger flippers, too.

Ok, I'll apoligize for using that word to refer to the person and I'll rephrase it to be a stupid remark.
I understand your feelings about certain companies, we all have companies that we don't think should be in business. In my post I wasn't talking about "companies" I was talking about the employees and other people who are affected everytime a company goes out. It's not the idea of just getting another job, it's the idea that a person doesn't have a job. It's the people that suffer not the company. I dont care if they are a large company or a small one, people are involved.
Have you ever worked for one that went out of business? If you haven't, I pray you never have to experience it. It's devastating to anyone involved.

TMC is not going bankrupt, they are restructuring a lot though. They might be a "family" business, but they are run as cut throat as ANY coporate conglomerate. I've picked up 4 loads in the last 9 days for about 2700 miles with my trainer. From what I've seen mileage is probably the way to go while freight costs are down, at TMC you only get paid for DH on mileage unless it's over 150 miles.
