And thats the two things I'm trying to get away from, our roading and contour is a huge difference from the States and our turbo's get a good work out.
I longest i spend in top gear is about 15 minutes at any one time so the turbo is spooling up and down many times in one day with lots of gear shifting.
Great Lakes Diesel gone??

hate to say it but.... take the big injectors out and add a pitts box or similar that will drop peak cyinder pressures with the same average cylinder pressure (BMEP) and therefore the same power level but also at the expense of higher egts, guess you cant have everything eh? maybe a combination of the two would be a good thing, injectors only a bit bigger than stock plus a box with only a small gain should give peak pressures a little higher and egt a little high than stock but a high power level.
Liner protrusion is the key in any case, if it isn't spot on the engine will never be right.C16KIWI Thanks this. -
Google cyclone machine. They do custom machining for engine parts. I never dealt with them though.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 9, 2009
C16KIWI Thanks this. -
On a few C-15 engines DDS built they were running a 7CZ program he changed to a 6NZ and lost some EGTs and gained MPGs I was thinking if I put a 6NZ program in and set HP at 435 might loose a bit of boost and EGTs.
I think your right though........you cant have everything. -
This all started with trying to find a stronger turbo that would last longer than a stock one............................now its about HP.
I think liner protrusion had a lot to do with it,its all about getting the right engine combination that works well over here, -
I asked a question on his ebay site about low compression pistons,he has low comp, ceramic coated,2 piece pistons for a C-16 he said he gets them made special and he said you DEFINITELY need them with boosting anywhere near 50psi.
The funny thing is when he was emailing me every day about parts and wanting my $20k NOTHING was said about needing low comp pistons!!!
Seems like they cant make there mind up,also he wants $6500(usd) for them. -
What compression ratio pistons is he trying to sell you?
-
I did ask him but he never said.
I should e-mail him back. -
great lakes=snake oil, everybody knows that, their prices are also absurd.
-
I like some of the models in his ebay ads though. He could sell a lot of calenders
