If they give us 3 hours that don't count against the 14, and extends our day, that will only end up extending the time we can roll again. Still have to take a 10 hour break. So in order to get to delivery as early as possible, you still have to run fast and hard. And parking will still fill up quickly. Every minute still counts and the clock keeps on ticking and ticking. The real clock, as well as the ELD clock.
New rules coming regarding HOURS?

I’m hoping something comes from the split sleeper pilot program. Having a flexible split sleeper option with a minimum 3 hour sb stopping the 14 would be great.
wore out Thanks this. -
They almost need 2 sets up rules one for owner ops, and one for company drivers. Different sets of challenges for each one.
-
Still wondering why drivers are begging to extend their days instead of demanding more money and working less.
Stockholm syndrome comes to mind.

I can't wait for more rule changes made by the blind side of the FMCSA that have never driven a big rig. This is going to be very interesting.
TheyCallMeDave Thanks this. -
Uhm no. Same job, same roads.

Demand all the pay you want. Who exactly is going to pay for your raise? Not the government.

Some of us are very fairly compensated for our time. But so many are content waiting for free because “that’s just trucking” that they’d rather have a 17 hour day instead of getting paid well for what they’re doing now.nax, TheyCallMeDave, DTP and 1 other person Thank this.

The 8 and 2 is insane, unless they want the 2 to extend the clock, too. 3 hours is a good nap for if you're tired during the day, or want traffic to clear in the morning or evening rush.
No one says you have to use it by regulation, but some of us would like the flexibility it would allow. And forget getting shippers and receivers to change how they operate, those 'changes' aren't always for the betterment of drivers, and the 'mandate' has cost me financially, in operations changes, ie. cross docking and having someone else take most of our accessorial pay (less multiple drops), makes for a smaller paycheck. -
Please learn whom is working with and for them. Knowledge is the only fuel the weapon of your mind has.
Regurgitating the truck stop counter, c b radio Rambo bull #### is what gets us dumb ### stuff like the 30 minute break.
