Everybody wants the Hood!It looks cool, and you feel great rolling down the road with all the chicken lights on.But think about this, back a few months ago when fuel reached around $5.00 p/gal.Those hoods were getting 5,5.25 mpg,and drivers couldn`t afford fuel.I drive a 2004 Columbia with a c-15 CAT and got 6.5-6.8 and didn`t care about the lights. It`s all about what you want to achieve.8)

I did not get the pete379.... I got a 2002 Freightliner Classic , Detroit 60 , 10spd..etc.. Looks like I'm picking it up this weekend or early next week. I will post up some pics when I take possession of it... Red , with black fenders.. It looks like a nice truck for the price $27,000 . 8 New drives & two new steers thrown in on the deal as well. Dot'ed and a full P/M as well . I'm hoping the Detroit will get around 6-6.5 Mpg ..... That was one of the biggest deciding factors "MPG" I just don't care for the Columbia's or Century class Freight Shakers...

You should do fine.I`ve talked to drivers of Classics w/Detroits and they get 6.3-6.5 if driven smartly.

guess you probably don't want to hear my boss just bought an 01 shaker with a rebuilt N14 cummins and all new rubber for $11k sorry, that's allot of cash for an old shaker.

the 99clasic i'm driving with a detroit I can get 7mpg with if I keep it below 65.
