They've all got their plusses and minuses. My ideal truck would be the new aluminum F350 with a 6.7 Cummins and Allison.

Welp, rams cost a sure lot for a truck that rots apart and is known to break mounts off the frame within 2 years up here. Motor wise I'd give them a shot otherwise. :p

I seen the 4500/5500/6500 coming back in the fall. I'd like to get about a 4500 crew cab for mixed use. But I ain't buying something first model year, seem like a dumb idea. Drivetrain is the same duramax Allison but all the wiring gonna be new and prone to problems imo

I like the smooth, car like ride of gm products. Gvw on the 3500 only 13,200 max n with a crew cab that ain't really impressive to me, gotta tare out 7,500-8,000 I'd have to think with a flatbed body.

Couple buddies of mine are mechanics on newer diesels by Ford and have nothing good to say about any Ford diesel since the 7.3.
    Seem to hold their value.

Well, howdy partner! Is that a W900L with a transcraft spread axle?

Nothing like asking 15k for a 15 year old boat anchor with 200k+ on it because seven point three, baby.

They were solid motors. But unless you find the diamond in the rough, you’re inheriting 15 years of neglect in most cases.

Who am I kidding. I’m just grumpy we got rid of ours

Ahhhhh, work truck. Sheeeit the ball game is different then. I don’t know anything about cab and chassis. I want to say the motors are different so... kinda lost there.

I do know those CC Cabs are like 50k on a 3500/4500 frame... at the low end

This is my big gripe with Chevy/Ford. New motor every three to four years. GMs get a pass — their stout more often than not and having an Allison behind it is nothing to slouch at. But ford? #### me. They haven’t built a reliable diesel since the 7.3L and the 6.4L was so ####ing atrocious I wouldn’t spend 70k on new 6.7L PS if I was Bill mfing Gates. o_O

    I like my Cummins, dangit

Edit: yes I know ford didn’t build the 7.3l... just roll with the rant here boys

Honestly I didn't even want the diesel. If I could find what I want with a 6.0 gasser, I could put a supercharger on it and have a little fun. Mostly gonna be not working it so why have the extra weight, and extra cost for no purpose most of the time, know what I mean?

The 6.7L Powerjoke in my work truck has held up pretty good. 90,000km and no emission issues yet. In winter it runs 12 hours a day. Might only actually be driven for 3 of those hours lol.

Didn’t think they were shoving gassers into their cab and chassis....

When I bought my Ram. They didn’t even have a chassis on the lot with the 6.4 Hemi in it...
