ATA Wants 18 Year Olds

Good luck finding insurance that is willing to insure these ticking bombs.

 

The ATA wants cheap drivers. Put more meat in the seat, ain't gotta pay them nothing.
Here's a side benifit I saw. They want to keep them indentured for at least 4000 miles. It's a wet dream for the trainer companies of the world.

 

Where do I get one of those? LMAO!!!

All the winking and nodding at those meetings must be tiresome at some point

 

I don't care about military helmsman steering a 10 billion dollar carrier that burns 5 billion in payroll annually. (Hyperbole) Those service men and women are under the vested authority of a Officer in charge of the equipment in this case Officer of the Watch and by Command Tree, the Ship's Captain. HIS BOSSES, the Admirals, Joint Chiefs and so on are necessary encumbrances on the poor Captain.

18 year olds fresh from high school don't get to drive 18 wheelers while Im still alive. Not outside of the Military they don't.

Why?

They are too young. Feeling Oats as it were. The first whorehouse they see will be a place that load is now going to be very very very late tomorrow.

 

Im not sure Im willing to train a boy or girl that young. 18 is just too tender. You will probably have to pay me 3200 weekly gross regardless of what that truck does. For my trouble. (And I'll be putting the girl up in a hotel every night on her own for which it's a business expense to reimburse me.)
