Mcdonalds or any other job that you can get around home.
If you read through the posts of all the students who have come before you in this past year the story is the same.
They are starving, not making enough to pay for life on the road ...never mind their obligations at home!
The market is saturated right now with experienced and students as it is, with some experienced guys having a tough time getting back into it.
Then you hear about those that do get jobs only to be running 5000 miles a month if they are lucky...
Take your time getting into this industry...
Good luck with your decision1pissedoffdriver Thanks this. -

Driver, life on the road aint cheap. Most major carriers will pay for your school provided you sign a contract to drive for them for one full year.leave before that and you pay for the school. As you have found out,cdl schools arent cheap.

I am not going to dispute the fact that times are tough,I have been there myself. As an owner operator, how well I know that.I am one of the lucky ones who just runs local now for a decent boss that I leased my truck to.New drivers and old road dogs have it tough now.I understand his point of view and dont wish to cause any problems at all.
