Don't forget the " you must be a sissy if don't want to work 70hrs a week"
    Mentality.

This is brilliant. So instead of fighting for higher wages let’s give companies the right to work us even longer and not have to pay more. Gotta love truckers.

That attitude is only going to force one of two ultimate outcomes. Either most major carriers force all-team fleets or truck stops congestion doubles from it’s already untenable state. Be careful what you wish for. And just because you are legally allowed a given limit doesn’t mean you and everybody else must run all the way up to the limit.

    Joetro and bzinger Thank this.

This why the push for 18 year olds. They have the stamina for 16 hour days.

People, the ATA, ORIDA, and The DOT are looking out for YOU.

    These are all win/win.

    Why are they unpaid?

I understand that, but my company doesn’t care. I run what I’m routed, not what I choose. So if they route me something that’s gonna require a 14-hour day, that’s the way it is. They’re already running almost everyone 12–14, they’re only gonna use this change to THEIR advantage.

Yes. According to actuarial tables, 18 year old female drivers are much safer than 18 year old male drivers. In the interest of national highway safety, there probably should be a 75-85% female [in good health] application acceptance rate policy implemented. So this is an idea I can get behind and am looking forward to. Might even move to a training carrier and move to the trainer board

Then maybe a 24/7/365 operational industry is not for you.

I promise you this has 0 to do with anything other than the current setup requiring shippers and receivers to have their thinking caps on, instead of business as usual.

The intent of the change will be for like where I delivered this morning, City of Industry, where there is 0 parking, so you're into your day for 1.5 hours just to get there.

Now the powers that be don't give a good God #### it about O/O, but this does have the mega slave companies all wadded up.
