Looks like one way to handle that could’ve been to point your front end toward the exit after circling and make a blind side out of it, with plenty of room to have a straight line to the door once you get straight again.

Another stupid dock. Who creates this stupidity? Wait I know, people that do not have to put an 18 wheeler in the stupid dock situation they created. Can anyone tell I find situations like this stupid and unnecessary? Did anyone hear stupid?.....ok I will stop
Suspect Zero and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
In a roundabout way that's what I ended up doing. I finally wiggled it around where my cab was pointed to the right and my trailer was pointed in the general direction of the dock and backed it up until I had enough room to pull forward and straight line it. It still took a bit of wiggling, though.Suspect Zero and MACK E-6 Thank this.

Sometimes you get ones that just need a few more feet no matter what ya do, but at the end of it you got in the dock and didn't damage anything. I always count those as a success, even the 15 pull up because I'm an idiot ones.
MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
There are no idiot ones if you don't hit anything.

I'd really like to know why in the hell we have over 10 fn drop trailers at Owens Brockway in Lexington NC? I mean wtf is the point the fn load is never pre loaded so may as well just take them out of here. Pretty sure if Millis were to give us 1 place we could list and we would never he sent there, this place would be mine. I fn loathe this place. Over/under set at 4.5hrs till I'm loaded and I'll take the over. Seriously #### this place

They are when you come in the wrong way.

Waste of extra time (your time) it takes accomplish the mission versus a dock area meant for big trucks is another reason I have a problem with places like that. Especially with the new QC and other devices measuring all movement, some of these places can be a real clock waster even before you start dealing with the people at the dockSuspect Zero Thanks this.

One reason I always got out of truck and walked to the dock to check out situation. I did nationwide Ltl with a t600 studio sleeper and a 53 footer. Nothing like house deliveries with a setup like that. My profile picture is from West virginia off route 250. Tiny little farm, delivered flower pots. Had to back into a gas well off that road to get turned around to make that delivery.

Yeah I always take a look around too.
I know what you are saying but I am referring to places "meant" to routinely receive trucks.
I do day cab flatbed now and regularly have to go to various jobs sites in addition to regular store deliveries. Some of the store deliveries leave a lot to be desired and nearly 100% of the time the job sites do.
I would not put the job sites into the conversation of what we are primarily talking about because they do not routinely receive large trucks accept briefly and temporarily.
