    Thank you Shooter!!
It's nothing special but it's an oddball in a sense, guess that's why I like it!

Everything goes good there will be a 8V92TA coming to the forefront at some point in the near future. Boo me if ya want lol... some of us don't care for the everyday scene :D;).

Well I dunno. Depends how far you go on one, I'd say the statement hell of alot cheaper is subjective. Is it a matter of a couple grand, a couple hundred difference.

One thing is about a B model, you can get a 2 piece steel top piston. You can't on a big cam. That's one difference your gonna pay for no doubt, but look what youre getting. A complete cylinder pack with a Cat ready to go. Cummins doesn't offer it that way

Compare valve train. A big cam uses big cam followers and they have to be shimmied correctly to time it. A B model is a simple rocker design that is like setting the valves on an old inline 6 gas motor. Anyone can do it.

Fuel pumps. A Cat single or dual scroll injector pump is EXTREMELY expensive IF you can even find one, a Cummins 1-1/4 gear drive PT pump is wayyyyy simpler and cheaper to buy or build.

Cummins uses 3 heads, Cat uses 1. That's almost a draw. Both Cummins and Cat remans suck for Quality control. Price wise, close.

You have to compare what you're getting in my opinion . One thing for sure, as @johndeere4020 stated, Cat will get you any part that has a Cat part# stamped on it to this day and it doesn't matter how old or out of date it is, Cat can get it. Cummins is not as good about that, especially on the older stuff. Cummins likes to phase that stuff out.
