Daydreaming is okay as long as you don't go into a deep Daydream where you zone out and you're not paying attention.
Thinking is good also. You just have to not be so engrossed in your thoughts that you missed the exits or you are not aware of your surroundings.
Pulling over and stretching or getting some exercise for a few minutes is a good idea.
You can't stop all the time, but it's good to stop and get a cup of coffee or just go for a short walk at a truck-stop or something and see some other people.
I think some guys have the ability to drive for long periods of time without stopping. I think it's best to stop at the very least every couple of hours.
If time on the trip permits it, it's good to stop and get a cup of coffee get a little exercise go for a walk or maybe jump in the bunk for 15-20 minutes and shut your eyes.
Maybe you are trying to run too hard. Also if you are on the road for days and days, try staying at a hotel room from time to time. Always always always being in the truck sometimes makes it harder.
Try to relax and enjoy the time alone.DevJohnson and Swiss Mountain Dog Thank this. -
Yeah my trainer told me not to underestimate those dirt devils. They can knock you off the road.DevJohnson Thanks this.

On long run especially at night I will throw a towel over my QC covering up my DOT clock so I dont keep looking at it. I dont do it if I have less than 2 hours drive time.gentleroger Thanks this.

All that stopping just prolongs the day. I prefer to drive 6 or 7 hrs straight, stop for my 30 then only have another 4ish hours left to drive.
My objective once I start my day is to get that day over with as quickly as possible.tscottme, justa_driver and x1Heavy Thank this. -
I think in sign language, it is a language that builds time, space, situation and so on. Once everything is in place then it's really easy to continue with the story and grow it to another deaf person. Having to convert that to English shows the limitations of the English language sometimes. I am literally transferring a situation from one to another with sign language. You can do that really fast if necessary without too many words that will take too much time. Pretty useful when you are presented with a smash pending in about 12 seconds and are looking to make a decision with that 18 wheeler and where to put it.

That is why I don't like the 30 minute break. It's unnecessarily interrupting something that's in progress all day. We have some where to go and a short time to get there.Redtwin Thanks this.

You know how long it is?

I just start an argument with the voices. Keeps me occupied for the rest of the day.
