Depends. When the head comes off start looking for black around the head gaskets. No moisture on the bolts as they come out. Clean the block with a scraper or cup brush. Look where the liner sets you wanna see the machine surface not a lip. Then set your new liners in with no seals, straight edge your spacer. Get the crush washers and torque it down measure the protrusion with a sled gauge. If they are ok and spacer isn't warped your gold. If they are level but low a thinner plate is offered 1 time. If they need cut just stay with the thick plate. The bolts just give em a good look.

If it feels like the torque wrench slips or you hear a pop in the initial sequence stop and take the head back off, don't ask me how I know that lol.

Thanks for the advice. Will be tearing into it once the snow flies. Gonna keep plugging away on the front of the frame until then. Won't be buying any parts until I have it apart on the bench. Would rather not shell out $3,000+ and then find out my block's no good or something. If its toast, used pre-emissions electronic will be getting dropped in the frame.
