Looking at building a high power motor that will last, wont be too badly abused but going to be used for fun. Just wanting to know what motor yall would pick, a 6nz, early 3406e, c15, early 15L/14.8L detroit, or a signature 600 cummins. Itll be going in an older 379 ext hood so no emission bs. Any imput is appreciated
High power show truck, which motor would you choose?

3406E... Put a good tune on it and you will never regret it.
snowman_w900, x1Heavy and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
3406 is the one that you want.
It will do it for you when you ask it to try a load. Just don't abuse it by doing excessive lugging etc.
They don't run motors like they used to makes me sad sometimes. You could get so much out of them without the emissions bullcrap they stuff into the tractor today. -
@wore out @superhauler @OLDSKOOLERnWV @snowman_w900
Seems like I'm forgetting some folkssnowman_w900 and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
If you have the $$$$.... KTA600 would be good.

3412

Great Lakes Diesel had a Pete for sale all done up nicely. It had a measly 1400hp, but was advertised at $191,000.00

I think this is one of those. Spotted this at a truck show last weekend. Whoever owns this truck definitely has pride in their ride.
Oxbow, spsauerland, wore out and 4 others Thank this. -
I second this motion lol.
What's your budget?, I'm sure that is prolly gonna play a part in deciding what you're gonna build, I assume?Oxbow, OLDSKOOLERnWV, SAR and 1 other person Thank this.
