Well, there is always some bad apples out there even amoung truck drivers. However, on the larger scale truck drivers are by far the best darn drivers on the road.
It's the 4 wheelers that make the mistakes either through ignorance or stupidity... Sure accidents do happen but if your not giving an 80,000 lb vehicle it's needed space then you might as well be playing with a loaded gun.
I practically grew up in the cab of a truck and even saw the old man get his rig in the smokey and the bandit II movie there in Atlanta GA where he raced his rig in the first ever GATR 200...

I have seen many stupid manuevers by 4 wheelers and it pisses me of so bad that I wish I could follow them and aske them why they made such a stupid move and if they were thying to get hit or be killed.
A few years ago I was coming home from my Hermiston,OR run and exited the freeway I-90 onto Hwy. 18 towards Tacoma/Auburn,WA. I was in the right lane to turn left as all trucks are and 3 fourwheelers following each other were on the left side of my truck as they were also turning left towards Auburn/Tacoma, when the light turned green all 3 of the cars decided to go straight and get back on the freeway and drove straight in front of me!! I almost hit them and would have if I wasn't paying attention and if I didn't hit the brakes so hard to avoid hitting the first car; I blew my air horn at them and they all flipped me off!! All I can say is there are some stupid *** drivers out there that when they get behind the wheel they don't pay attention and are just focused on where they are going, and not what's happening around them while driving.
It also makes me mad when a car does something really stupid when I blow my air horn that they flip me off; I am sorry but I am not the idiot driving the car making dumb moves around a truck that can kill me and expecting the truck to "yield" to me. Cars need to learn this, don't make dumb moves around trucks, if you're gonna do this go do it with no one else around. I also cannot stand tailgaters; this is how accidents happen, a car is following another car too close and the first car has to brake and the second car is so close it rearends the front car. -
I hate when you get over to let a 4 wheeler on the road then they wont let you back in the right lane. some speed up to let you over but then the cars behind them take up space and youre stuck. get on the road, hold back a second, let the truck over then pass on the left. please. ps, if the truck doesnt come right back over, he may not know youre waiting on him, flash.

I used to be a 911 dispatcher and I remember getting a 911 call one night from an irate trucker. He was driving on a 2 lane highway and had a couple crotch rockets scream past him. After they got in front of him, they slammed on their brakes, making him lay on his brakes. He said that he #### near ran them over before they took off again. They waited for him to get back up to speed and then did it again. He said that he pulled over and stopped for a few minutes to let them get away from him, and then when he got a couple miles down the road, the bikes passed him going the opposite direction, turned around and passed him again. It was at that point he pulled over and called, and he was not a happy camper. I sent Deputies to look for these two but never found them.
Just from the way he was screaming in the phone about these two, I thought he was going to have a heart attack! -
