    Ah, ok.

After seeing yours I wasn’t sure if that’s what you were supposed to do or not.

    Thx, Bad Influence. Much appreciated.

The Texas Star is also up in the overhead?

Where did you connect to DC power?

The linear is mounted right under cb on it's own mounting bracket. Power is run to batteries. The routing of those wires run thru a hole I drilled into upper dash below cb follows route of the coax but down behind dash panels and out a existing hole in firewall (had to put a bunch of silicone to reseal it) and down to batteries. Make sure its fused as close to battery terminal as possible and there's no such thing as to much chafe protection at all possible rub points also use stick on cable holders to secure the wires along its route to your batteries. Again, a lot of work to route the wires but its necessary to run a linear in this truck

I have a pair of BLUE SEA 30A termination fuses/holders ($90) for such a project. Can “up” the amperage considerably with the unique fuses.

Have quite a collection of Adel clamps from older wiring projects to secure cabling.

I have a little RM Italy 203p at present (12A) and am looking at the 503/505 (40A).

All of your description detail is much appreciated.

I’ve asked one of the mods to move this thread to the CB forum. Kinda lost over here.

And have started a thread of my own on a 579 install. Your comments welcomed.

I prefer to hang my cb in place of the center sun visor like I did in my T880. Just have to make 2 small L brackets. Looks to be a little more room in the Pete's upper cabinet for a bigger radio, but still have to do some cutting I guess. The KW won't fit anything with a bottom amp. And their external speakers are junk.

    2016 579 Pete

Uniden 885 CB/Scanner (GPS and Scanner antennas on windshield interior per that factory).

RM Italy KL203P amp atop radio case (not shown behind panel)

    Astatic D104 microphone

    Factory speaker far left

Out back is a Wilson 5’ Silver Load

Using all factory connections, coax, etc, at this point.

Just purchased a 579 does anyone know where to buy a factory external speaker for these? The cb shop I called does not sell them.
