There was a time back in the 90's around 94 or so that Arkansas had signs up at the state line that there was absolutely no tolerance. They were up for many years. I don't know if the original signs are still up today, say in west memphis on 40 at or past the bridge state line.
So on one hand it's there. On the other I'm not current.
We are by law now a 75 mph state, however the state highways has seen fit to be very slow in putting up those new signs. People cannot run 75 until the signs go up. By extension rural roads that are two lane are now 65 as soon signs go up.
The people have made a mockery of the tolerance for many years around here. The police get what they can all the time.06driver Thanks this. -

Speeding is bad. But the bs about getting EPA fines is truckstop counter wives tales told to rookies for the wow factor.
Certain municipalities have asked for an exemption through the EPA for reduced speed limits (Knox, Seviere, Shelby in Tennessee come to mind as well as others). But there is no EPA fine for speeding. -
The signs do say that coming in on 40 from Memphis. They should. In my opinion that stretch of 40 between Memphis and Little Rock is one of the best places in America to be took out by some dumb ####. Add all the construction and there you go. Sad thing is it's straight and flat for the most partkylefitzy, SingingWolf, rank and 3 others Thank this.

Speeding is stupid, and doesn't really gain you much. Thanks for the heads up about it for those who haven't figured out that multiple speeding tickets can cause you to lose your license and your ability to drive for a living. It also wastes gas, and is harder on tires.
70% of ppl accept the science of man-made global warming, and understand that the consequences mean rising sea levels, and the infrastructure damage that goes with it, along with health issues. Anyone who doesn't "believe" in man-made global warming is a puppet of the fossil fuel industry, that, obviously, wants to keep their living. That same industry that made RECORD PROFITS off us during the recession, when hard working people were losing their houses, and couldn't afford to feed their families. The fossile fuel industry is now asking for help to mitigate the problems caused by global warming, like rising sea levels and more intense storms damaging the infrastructure in Texas... Asking us, the taxpayers, to give them more money on top of their billions of dollars in subsidies to protect their oil production. Everything that can be done by fossil fuels can be done with renewables, and create MORE jobs doing it.
