    Don't count on it.

Besides, they check other things in case of accidents. During stops, they look for receipts.

During the audit, they check everything on the load to the log. It is more about revenue anymore.

I read another comment that said "you have nothing to worry about if you do nothing illegal", I couldn't help but, think about all the times I got messages to pick up a load a shortly after I had already picked up a diferent load, or to send in my hours long after I had already sent them in or any of the other screws up's that come with having a computerized system... This could be a very scary thing for a lot of legit drivers... Hell, I was scared and I haven't drove in 4 months!

i think DOT is tellin us to keep things legal??:biggrin_2554:

i heard that when the qc was first brought around that the DOT would not be able to do this... only a matter of time before we start running like one of the other countries, i forget what one, but that have alarms on the trucks to alert dot when a truck is " riddin dirty "
i guess here in the U.S we still work off the honor system.. i guess were lucky.
    old timer' told me
" if you thought about, DOT is already 1 step ahead of you " im sure he's right.

    NOT TRUE!!:biggrin_25512:

I just read a story where a driver was arrested for making a bomb threat at a chicken plant. I can't remember where I read it at but they caught him because he used a "pay as you go phone" and he was on camera refilling it. Somehow they traced where the refill card was purchased and obtained the footage.

I have no problem with that, as long as the companies can fix all the little screw up's that could land good men and women behind bars, or in a bankruptcy when the did nothing wrong!

Oh yeah that reminds me... I worked for a company that had the Qualcomm give you a reminder when you were "riding dirty" It hapened at least 5 times to me in the three months I worked for this company... The problem was that I had plenty of hours and it one case it went off when I was sleeping in the bunk, so it woke up to remind me to go to sleep... I wonder what that would have cost me if I had got in and accident within the next six months???

He was wrong... There's no honor in trucking!
And he's right, the DOT will always be 1 step ahead of you... Even if they have to back step six months to get ahead of you!

I think Cyber posted an article about that. I remember seeing something about that just in the last couple of days here.

Do the cards have serial #'s, That's probably how they traced it!

Kinda reminds me of a man who sent a bomb threat to the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, MI. The police where able to arrest him a couple of hours later... He put his return address on the letter!
