Hub. There's no excuse with ELDs.kemosabi49, Oldironfan and DTP Thank this.

Hub miles are the actual miles you drive. You seldom get a choice in which method is used to pay you. If they pay off hub miles, very very few companies do that, they pay you less per mile. It's going to average out about the same either way, unless you are comparing a really good and generous company versus a low-level crappy company. Talk to drivers working at any company before making a decision. A company website is like a car commercial, it says only what they want you to know in the best possible light.Phenomenal Thanks this.

Hub miles are better by far man. If i had two or three options infront of me, the one payin off my hub would hold the heaviest weight.
Phenomenal Thanks this. -
Ya, that's what I figured. They start out at 42/hub mile.

Do your calculations and compare, say, 820 miles at 42cpm vs another pcmiller company at 800 miles at their cpm. Seems to average 20 miles short. PC Miller pay might be better if they pay more.Phenomenal Thanks this.

You'll loose up to 10% even on practical.
45cpm minus 10% = 40.5cpm.
Hub is great way to go at least your getting paid for all your driving.Phenomenal Thanks this. -
I'd be more concerned with finding a company that suits your needs, pay is only one part of the equation. Most of them work out similar in the end anyway.
Have you narrowed your list of companies you are considering starting with?tscottme and Phenomenal Thank this. -
Are you saying it's common to get 10% less miles with PC Miller?
-
So true. What good is it getting the pay you want if everyone you have to deal at work is a donkey.Phenomenal Thanks this.
