1. My own wheels ( no slip seat)
2. 48 States and Canada
So that narrowed it down considerably. -
You will make approximately the same at the end of the year. How do you want your pay stub to read? 120,000 miles at hub miles of .50, no accessorial, for $60,000. Or, pc miles, 105,000 miles at .42 for 44,100, + a bunch of accessorial pay for whatever, totals out to the same approximate 60 grand.
If both jobs are similar work then it comes down to things like, do you like to operating area, time away from home and home time, is the equipment good, general b.s. from dispatch, etc.tscottme and Phenomenal Thank this. -
I still don't have all the accessorial pay data back from the companies I'm talking to so I can't really calculate yet. But would 42/hub miles plus accessorial pay for picks, switches, drops and $20/hr waiting time and guaranteed daily pay rate $200/day be a good start.

Obviously one of the reasons companies pay pc miler is some drivers in the past abuse hub miles pay. Which just drives the whole cost to run the load up since the truck eats for every mile. Fuel tires oil changes. That's why it is rare. And also why it's generally accepted drivers will get a predetermined # of miles for a given run.
Another example for those who make the claim of drivers being their own worst enemy. -
Cpm vs. hub is one of the most minor things to worry about. Simply subtract 10% from the hub rate to get practical rate.
From there compare cpm and accessory pay. Stuff like detention, layover, breakdown, multistop, etc play a larger role in gross pay.Last edited: Aug 26, 2018
tscottme and Phenomenal Thank this. -
Accessorial pay is a great plus as long as it's consistent each week.
Same with bonuses, only good if you can actually achieve them. -
Phenomenal and gokiddogo Thank this.

Not so insignificant now.
Now just consider that this company has 400 drivers. 6,000 x 400 = $2,400,000 the company has now ripped off its drivers in just one year.
Do truckers just have Stockholm Syndrome? How else can it be that lawyers haven't jumped all over this. I'd think there'd be class action suits left and right with these sorts of trucking company scams.
Let's call a spade a spade.stuckinneutral, Phenomenal and driverdriver Thank this.
