I think I’d go with Schaffer. The only downside I see with their stuff is the opti idle. And I don’t know if they have cameras or not. But the reefer trailers will be way nicer than most of Schneider’s trailers.

I can't speak to Crete but Schneider has not treated me well. I think it's the account I'm on but most of our trucks are falling apart. Communication is non existent. Reimbursement is a joke, prepare to fight a couple weeks for breakdown/layover pay. I told the office I suspected an exhaust leak and was told to roll the windows down and keep going. 3 weeks later I finally get it checked. Took 3 weeks to fix leaky hub seal... Idk I'm really new to this industry so perhaps my expectations were too high. I don't feel very safe. And I feel like my CDL is on the line every time I see DOT doing inspections.

If you don't feel safe do not drive no matter what ANYBODY tells you until you feel the safety concern is rectified.

I tried that awhile back. Standing my ground, I felt the financial pinch and gave in. So much for "safety first and always"

If you are somewhere other than home you should have at least gotten breakdown pay. If you are at home, they should bw able to get you into a loanwr to run.

If you believe something is unsafe, YOU have to make it an issue.

I agree. And it was my understanding that is essentially when breakdown pay is paid. 2 breakdowns in a week (2 different trucks), both about 5 hours from home, I've learned that is not the case. They want the truck in the shop 24 hours. Not 23.
