The only scandal if that's what its called was with Calark in Little Rock AR where they were hiring people on tourist visa's getting them CDL's all the drivers were now unlawfully present as a visa is only valid for 6 months and a visa waiver for 3 months both entry permits were only for bonafide tourism or business not for working the CEO faced Federal charges and as far as i know is still doing time in a Federal Prison.

Cal Ark has been something of a embarrassment to Arkansas over a period of time.

Come to think on it sometimes Arkansas is a embarrassing problem now and then. They ought to know better and mind...

Is that where Starnes (I believe the guy’s name was Starnes) had MS Carrier based at?

Had a friend that drove for them and liked them and ended up at Swift when they took over.

Yes, Mike Starnes. His trucks were the same color and spec'd the same as Swift trucks. There's still a bunch of old MS Carriers trailers around.

Your first paragraph is correct.. the first sentence of your second paragraph is gibberish.. the post that goes into sanctuary cities etc etc etc.. must have just flown under your radar? It also has nothing to do with CDL's, Unions nor tanker work. I'm sure this was just some oversight of some sort.

Sanctuary cities must be a sore spot. I had no idea. I wonder why,...
I myself don’t really understand them. I mean, why would there be cities where killers and murderers can find safety? Then again, I never figured out that affluenza stuff either. Oh well, such is life.

yeah i remember in the late 90's going along to a conference at the Travelodge in Sydney a couple of dude's all dressed up in suits were telling us about a great opportunity to drive over in the USA all that was required was being between the ages of 21- 70 i thought wow this is a great opportunity as it turned out this was Calarks way of recruiting drivers to fill the huge shortage in the boom time thank goodness i didn't take the offer cause it was all illegal stuff you'd go over on a holiday visa get a US car licence as it was easy as back in those days then apply for CDL must of been a few officials getting there palms greased away it all got investigated by the FBI and charges made all the illegal drivers got to stay till the court case was over as material witnesses then sent back home.

I don't know if you were able to get away with that in the USA. If you were a Foreign CDL holder or equivilant, you will have been required to surrender same at any of the US State's DMV per federal law that was passed in the 1991-1994 time period where no trucker shall hold more than one CDL at any time ever. (In my time with the old Class A, you could have a pile of 48 class A's to choose from when pulled over for this or that. Heh...
