practical is closer to "reality" HHG is usually at LEAST 10% off.(zip code to zip code)
ALOT closer to "actual" miles if it is a small town to a small townLast edited: Feb 14, 2009

If you buy a computer mapping program from the store, HHG mileage will be the Shortest Route. Regardless of how absurd the route may be. (90% across the nation on 2 lane roads, for instance) Practical will be the route 90% of people will drive. That is interstates and 4 lane US Highways. Thats a simple way to explain the difference.

I like color concepts... shortest miles are all those black lines on your map. practical miles are all those blue and orange ones...

i do like them texas "2 lanes" with the 20ft wide shoulder LOL and most slow 4-wheelers know HOW TO USE IT.

Hey im6under. Noticing the quote in your sig. I googled it. The results only come back to truckersreport and your handle over at biodiesel.infopop. What gives?? It's a good quote and doesn't seem to be attributed to anyone, may as well claim it yourself lol.
