How much should an O/O make?

Totall: 7,716.85
(Tolls and oil change not included) cuz it’s on my elite pass billing
Oil change/grease was 359$

By the way rates are down right now too

so if good company drivers make around 80k to 100k a year on top of 401k and pther extra pays, is it worth the money to go to O/O in a long term goal (10 years). any O/O with 5 to 10+ years experience in here that could provide some info on their yearly earnings after taxes from 5 to 10 years and compare them with a good company driver earning (which should be stable) ?

we are team drivers and hoping to go for team O/O but would it put at least 200k after everything each year in our bank ?

 

Most people don’t understand the main concept of owner O.P. and that’s the freedom. If you buy a truck to work twice as hard is poIntless.
I go home when I want to work when I want. I went from 12 months on the road all on all to make 60-80k
To owner O.P. on a single truck making over 160k+ working less than 10 months all in all.
There’s more to it than can I make a million in a year.

You have 60k dollars and 55 of that goes to the business.

 

How much should an OO make? Depends on if said OO is a supertrucker. Supertruckers make so much money they can sit at a coffee counter all day everyday telling a rookie how to do it while solving all the worlds problems. And that is before 9AM.

 

I seriously doubt it just my opinion. I have yet to meet a rich Truckdriver yet .Well once met 2 millionaires in one day while laid over in Atlanta during the worst of the recession. Both claimed to just love Trucking so much doing it for fun!!! Bottom line if you’re happy now and make $80k and feel secure why bother . If something changes you can always buy a truck. There’s so many variables. If you want more freedom especially if all $$$ earned is going to the same household I think a team is great. But if you’re splitting the $$$ then might as well be solo. I’m sure you probably know more about that than I do. My Father and I considered it years ago but it didn’t add up to much more than us being home less. All depends what you want to do. To me it all boils down to freedom. Being able to walk away easily if needed being a big part of it. There’s pros and cons both ways. I will tell you that after 22 yrs of being an o/o I have no desire to work for someone else. Only job I held more than 3 yrs is my own!!!! Good Luck whatever you choose to do.You can make as much or more than currently, but I don’t think you’ll have 200k in the bank on top of your pay.And not to be negative but you can go into debt real quick if not carefull.
