Just my opinion. It is a service that allows the broker to sell to customers that drivers will not see 1 cent of.

FedEx, nor UPS are in real time. If the Broker's customers want real time, coordinates or up to the minute location data then let them pay for it. This tracking, just like tarping and detention gets given away for free and/or the Carrier doesn't see any profit from it. You want these perks, then you will pay me for said services. Otherwise, find other sucker foolish enough to give it all away for free. Personally, I'm running a business, not a charity.

I'm going to stop calling it tarping.
It's weather insurance and it just like anything else that needs extra money to be available.

Indeed. I don't even have tarps on my truck. 90 percent of the stuff they want tarped could easily be shrink wrapped by the shipper.

Just used both of these for the last two loads.

And just remember the tracking isn’t active it’s hours behind
So they’ll text you and say we see you’re stopped at so and so truck stop are you still good for delivery.... on the next update it shows that you are 3 hours away.

So in other words, even though they know exactly where you are and you are stopped, they still call or text? Yeah, F*** that.

Pretty much! They are pretty annoying but no matter what this is a business at the end of the day.
I tell them when we talk do not call between 5am and 11am after that no problem.

I don't mind so much if they call, but have to remind them that if I don't answer, it is because I am either away from my phone or sleeping, but if they leave a message; I WILL CALL BACK. I also have to remind them if they use a blocked number, my phone rejects it. This eliminates most scammers....

I have been sent 2 text messages in the past month
    Wanting me to download macropoint
After the first message request I downloaded
After downloaded the app wants permissions to use location, access to photos and other stuff I keep saved on my phone, and manage and make phone calls
I don't mind sharing my location
But my phone is my personal space
I don't have anything on here I wouldn't want others seeing
I just think it is intrusive
To want that kind of access to my personal phone
If someone wants me to use this app
Then they need to provide a company phone
If all they are wanting is location
They can use the eld for that

    DSK333, Matt43324 and p608 Thank this.

I stay with in 300 miles of home. They get 2 calls from me,1 I'm loaded and 2 I'm empty. I don't talk and drive, at least not to brokers.
