    What an attitude.

If you see a bank robber, robbing a bank, are you going to rat on him?

If you see a guy hit and run someone in the road, are you going to rat on him?

Breaking the law is the same no matter what a personal opinion may be.

Thats right... there is a reason for the laws... You think you have the right to pass by my house scewing with my stuff just so you can have your fun?

And to those that suggested going to the FCC don't bother trying... they said it would be a long time before they could investigate. I've heard of it taking up to 3 years

We have the same problem here, but mostly with big base units running very dirty amps, like X-force or some such, 3k or more, and they will totally mess with you when you try to calm them down. Sometimes you can't talk on any channel within ten channels of 16 because of these rednecks. It took years for locals to get one guy busted, but when the FCC raided him, they made him take a sledge to all his equipment in his driveway, then fined his butt some gawdawful amount.
Believe it or not, he's back in full power again. The only thing we could do locally was to get sideband radios and get far away from their frequencies.
I run a footwarmer when I NEED it to reach someone, but my stuff is tuned and clean (B class amps) and no one is bothered. I also don't talk much locally anymore, or on 19, because there's not much intelligent life left on the planet if you listen to CB's...!

Here's another solution to the problem. Go to the internet and look up Public Law 106-521. This was a law that was signed by Clinton in 2000 as a result of exactly what you are experiencing: outlaw CBers creating havoc with home electronics and other radio services. This law permits LOCAL authorities to enact ordinances so that their own law enforcement people can go after these clowns causing interference. The ordinances can ONLY reflect existing FCC regulations and may not exceed those limits. Licensed services, such as amateur radio operators, are EXEMPT from local enforcement. Once you have familiarized yourself with this Federal law, contact your local city or county aldermen and make them aware of the problem you are having and urge them to pass an enabling ordinance. This will permit the police to ticket, fine and/or seize any illegal equipment in the possession of the outlaw operators, and they must do so with the advice and cooperation of FCC. The GOOD thing about this is, it will speed FCC's action because it is a local government requesting assistance.

In the meantime, continue to file complaints with FCC, even contact your Congressman. Don't take it sitting down. FCC, contrary to the old CB wives tales, DOES go after CBers and has levied some very heavy fines in recent years! Some of them up to $10,000+:yes2557: !!!!

Good luck and have patience. These knuckleheads have, and WILL GET, a surprise coming to them!!!! :biggrin_2555:

Just for the record X-Force make some of the cleanest amps out there. You can order them biased in whatever class you would like.

You can run AB class but it takes much more power to run them. I guess there is a cost at whatever you want to do.

I always sucks when an idiot gets something to cause trouble. Look at guns.

Oh but you can do things legally first call the FCC and make a complaint about interferance. Next write a formal complaint to the FCC and send it registered mail. Now go down to your local law enforcement and have them come out and witness the interference first hand and they can stop them on the spot.

Paulie: I suppose maybe Xforce cleaned their act up by now? Because I had a 1K unit on my base and got rid of it because it was such a mess UNLIKE any of my prior amps or the ab unit I have now. After my neighbors had let me know about it (and it virtually ERASING their channel 5 and I think 27) it went up on a mountain and that guy had trouble with it all around him. There are several of them in this area and we know when they key up because they bleed over ten CB channels.
    That's all I know of X force.

Ahhh..I got ya Red. I don't about the AC amps as I only do DC. I have my old Maco tubber for the base that still walks the dog. I want to get my 12 element done and I will sound like one of them there big BIG boys on ch 6 with only 300 watts.

Keep your head up with the idiots. It doesn't matter where you go you will be forced to deal with it. It sucks for certain!
