    Back in the eighties a company I was at ground around the ends of the axle shafts in the differential housing. Same idea, it someone was tanking on the drive line the axle shaft would break right near the wheel end. Ten minute job to change.

    If it won't go in gear just rev it to 2000, let off and at the same time push hard. When it finds the right rpm it will go in gear. Ignore the grinding noise.

    They are the same, you slip the clutch to get moving, you shift just like a car, push the clutch in to go next gear to go faster and you push the clutch in and increase the engine speed to go to a lower gear.

    18 sp is easy to learn, very easy to drive, you can drive them like a 10 if you want. I hate 10s love 13/18 and that's all I order in my trucks other than those off the lot trucks I got with autos.

    My drivers have a choice to pick the trans and only one asked in the past three years for a 10 and now as of last week he wants to go back to a 13 sp.

    Ive been happy with short 9s from Rockwell. But I'll be ###### if I touch another blocky 10 speed that does not know torque or horses. 13's with underdrive suits me best.
