Why are you so dead set on crete? Have you not looked at truck paper. There is a truck for sale around every corner. I would definitely go private party before anything if your credit is good. You can add a warranty depending on the year of the truck and mileage when buying from a private party.

I'm guessing he doesn't have the down payment or upfront money for insurance etc.....

Just for a good laugh, check out their sliding pay scale. What a deal!!! At least it's higher then Stevens.

According to their "percentage of gross plan" you can be at 72% in 15 years... I know companies that start at 72% if your intentions are to lease onto them.

I've been with them going on 12 years as a company driver & just bought a truck from them in May. Took a long time for me to get up the nerve to do it as I was doing very well as a company driver. I had many conversations with the O/O division and O/Os' before pulling the trigger. I came into it with the mindset that...if my only choice were to always keep the truck here, then I wouldn't be doing this. I had every intention of taking the truck elsewhere once I get it paid for, which will be within a few months. But now, 3 months into it, I can honestly say that if my only choice were to always keep the truck here, I still would do it. I'm keeping close track of everything on spread sheets & am better off financially than I was at .57 per mile as a company driver. I'm not saying you'll get rich doing it but the money is better. My average gross is $1.41 per mile at roughly 2,800 average per week. I know that's not much compared to what you see in some of the posts now while rates are high but I've seen times when O/Os' struggle to get a dollar. I have always seen trucks here that were not bought here, but O/Os' who brought their trucks here, they're not doing it for better rates obviously but stability. I've asked several of them why they didn't take their trucks to Landstar or somewhere with percentage pay & the answer is almost always the same.... those places sound great right now but wait until rates go down. At least here you know what you'll get and you know it'll be there. I had problems with the truck right out of the gate & they stuck by me every step of the way, the folks in the O/O division are straight shooters, they won't butter things up. I am very happy with my decision to do this, no regrets.

You won't buy a truck here without a down payment. It's not a walk-away, no-money down lease to purchase. You're buying the truck at a fair price. They do a credit check, your name is on the title, you dictate when and where you get service, you dictate when & for how long you'll be home. It's not a typical fleece deal.

Some people (myself included) are nervous about jumping in head first into owning a truck and feel a little better buying (not leasing) under the stability of a company. I could have paid cash for my truck & will go ahead and pay it off in a few months, no later than the end of January. Everyone's situation is different and there aren't many right or wrong ways to buy a truck, just depends on the what the person is comfortable with. I personally feel the walk away, lease-purchase deals are a horrible way to go but I've known people who've done pretty good at it.

Did you see that one listed a few days ago? The 2007 Century? I see quite a few old ones listed. But it is hard not to wonder what happened with the guys selling the 2013-2015s'
