Biggest issues with Truck Stops?

Bad food is probably one of the biggest insults. Hot dogs and whatnot sit on the roller grill all day if they don't sell. black hot dogs are a bad sign. TA and their hot sandwitch deal is one of the worst offenders. Mystery meat patties that sit there all day.

Sit down restaurants go further down hill all the time. Can't brown hash browns and taste like bad cooking oil, rubber eggs from being over cooked, raw onions in an omelet, for $15...

Slow fuel pumps with bad card readers. screwed up parking spots pointing the wrong way or not enough room between the rows.

Always a line at the register, Slow as molasses POS system on the register. And the cashier is always barking at you when to swipe your card or what to press before you even get a prompt for it. Like it's your problem it is so slow...

$5 for one roll of paper towels or $10 for a bottle of body wash.

 

Yessir,I usually "Grumble" a few choice words and toss the "food poisoning" out the winder. Hey,Im a truck driver? I Dont have time to get Sick? WTFlip?Charged me $4 for the "Sick pills" Bastages JMO

Nobody going to comment on the severely low quality and numbers of lot lizards?

 

America is in decline. If drivers were paid what they are worth there would be many more women with entrepreneurial spirit at truck stops.

 

Where to start. OOOOOOOOOhhhhhh boy. Unqualified two week wonder drivers that are spit out like they came from an assembly line out of these schools.
Drug, and alcohol issues that no owner, lab, D.O.T physical, or company will ever be told about by the person with such an issue, until they either kill someone, crash your truck, or get busted by an officer.

Lack of true truck stops with large parking lots for the amount of trucks on the road. Fat food taking the place of the sit down restaurants.

Pay to park travel plazas (what a joke). Restricted spots when Idle aire was in business.

Government Department of Trans, D.O.T, and FMCSA who take 6 months to decide which hand they will use to wipe their rear ends, same as it takes to decide the final H.O.S rules.

 

The real issue is that they are not truck stops anymore, but travel plazas. Fast food only, or two day old dried hot dogs on a rotisserie, crap parking lots, and inadequate parking spaces (Pilot, Loves, and some off breed brands).

 

Filthy truck-stops, moron drivers who can't park worth a #### and block the fuel island because they're too busy dicking around inside said filthy truck stop, lack of parking, truck stop parking lot designs that appear to have been created by Stevie Wonder, disgusting bathrooms, (I don't eat out but I'll throw in the ####ty food as well as a complaint,) ridiculous prices, lot lizards that look like they've been road hard and put up wet (where's the real talent?) faded or non existent parking lines in said truck-stops, (makes it hard for the rookies) incompetent (I hate my life) employees of said truck stops (look you chose to work here) the smell of piss and #### when you open your door, the disgusting and filthy drivers that frequent said truck-stops and on and on and on. You get the gist.

 

This is why I want to go do something else. The traffic, 4-wheelers, weather, and waiting are just part of the job. Every job has their inconveniences and challenges. This picture though is a reminder that 97% of drivers are despicable slobs, and before you say it's not 97% think about this. If it were the other way and only 3% were like this you would never notice it. If it were only 3% the truck stops wouldn't smell like piss. I mean think about just this one thing. A 10 acre plus parking lot with stench of piss in the air. That doesn't happen from 3 out 100
