Fuel gauge

    Why does the fuel gauge needle never show full? It's like that on other driver's Freightliner not just mine.

    There is an adjustable float on top of tank remove the three or so screws and adjust by bending rod as I remember or if you can move float up on rod. But you will also change the empty reading that is you may run out w/ gauge showing good. Only other reason is if tank is turned. That case losses straps and turn so float mechanism is on top . You can’t miss it usually on drivers side has wire running to it

    I should clarify it could always be the gauge. My guess is you can probably run a while on empty as is. I would leave it alone better this way than risk running out of fuel

    Mine shows full for about 25 miles then its down to 7/8 of a tank. It's a useless gauge.
