Trouble shifting from hi to low

    You do have synchronizers in your trannsmission, and i think it has an air pressure regulator, check it first, then most likley it's synchronizer in back half.

    bad synconizer .....yea they have one .......it's in the back box it is used for hi-low only replaced several

    Yes, as coalhauler mentioned, you DO HAVE a syncro for the HI/LOW shift. The other gears are non-syncroed. You definitely have a worn syncro. The good news is, usually it wears out on the upshift side. So if it doesn't grind or hesitate upshifting the syncro matertial sounds like it is ok and the air pressure is ok too. Grinding during down shift doesn't concern me as much because usually you are coming to a stop anyway. Try downshifting your spliter when you are nearly or completely stopped, (trans in neutral or clutch held down). If you downshift at the "Sweetspot" rpm the syncro really does nothing anyway so it may be just a matter of too high or too low rpms. Try some different methods of shift before you spend big bucks on tranny work. Good luck.
