If you calculate time and a half after 40 hours that's around 23/hr.
    Screw that!

I hear UPS is good, but the pay in the beginning can be pretty rough. You shouldn't go there unless you can stand taking a drastic pay cut the first couple years.

I only "work" 2-3 hours a day. The rest of the time is kicking back. No limits on overtime. Getting paid for everything I do. More than 23 hour too. I see you tried to figure it out. I said more than 3k a week. Sometimes closer to 4. Daily per diem and more. I did LTL and I make a lot more now. LTL is a good local job but I'm not going to go through starving at the bottom again right now. I paid everything off and I'm debt-free because of the oilfield now I'm just stacking the cash. I'm not making it a career but I am going to ride it out til I get a "normal" job again.

That may have been your experience but not mine I got a brand new place and I'm home everyday. Good for you. There are many ways to skin a cat. Oilfield work is way easier then most jobs. Peoples perception it's all drilling rigs lol. BTW they make 6 figures working only half the year.

Right on. Someone's got to do it. Just not my cup of tea. I like my town and my people. If I had no ties, I might be one of those guys chasing the money for 6 months and blowing it the other 6.

There are many fools out here who built their lives up to making big money and can never leave. When the s!@# hits the fan they are the first to cry. Poor people spend and rich people invest. It's a mindset.
