ive been using Truckstop for a year and it's been good to me. Lately though, TS has a ton of "see load" loads that do not publish a broker. When you call on the load, no one answers. It's über freight or e freight or something.
Question is: is DAT worth the money?
Do you guys that run spot prefer DAT?
Thanks

I like DAT because the cheap subscription gives you average lane rates and broker credit scores. Truckstop does not. If you can afford it get both. I don't even know if I can afford it yet but I now have both, just added Truckstop this week.
There's a WHOLE lot more on Truckstop!Doing_flatbed_nc Thanks this. -
Sounds like Uship bids, which some people actually get into. Seems like those Uship loads are better for guys with step decks and ramps who LTL a lot

I would cancel Truck Stop and get DAT Power. It’s all you need and pays for itself many times over.

Truck Stop is better suited for open deck and specialized loads.
DAT 360 covers more VAN and Reefer loads.

In your neck of the woods, I don't even bother to post loads to DAT. For whatever reason, I find that just about every load I cover comes off of truckstop or my contacts out of the Carolinas.

It’s kind of like an apple vs android thing. You might get used to a certain format by default, then when you try the other, you dislike it because your already well versed and inclined in the other.
Only way to know is to try both for a while. I do see more loads being posted on dat, BUT, a lot of that freight volume is reposted loads from 30 minutes ago that continues to be reposted by Landstar and the likes. So the load volume is a little misleading at times. But it almost never fails, around 6pm EST Truckstop usually comes to a screeching halt as far as new load postings, but DAT just continues for another couple hours. Idk, I use both for now but I lean more towards one than the otherDoing_flatbed_nc Thanks this. -
It does seem like most brokers on Truckstop are on EST and phones do not get answered after 5:00 pm. That said, I did manage to book two loads on Friday @6:00 with CST brokers- but that is rare.
I'll give DAT a test drive next week.
I had gotten lazy running for one broker. When the mad spring rushed died down, so did their rates. So I need to get back to hustling.
I'm a year in and doing well but I feel like I should be exploring more options.
Thanks allPPLC Thanks this. -
Agreed. Must post weight. Must post what size tarps. If multiple drops, must put drop cities. If strict appointment times, must post those: etc

What is it about truck stop that makes it better for open deck and specialized? Thanks.
